14 Apr Simpsons announces guest chef talent lined up for spring
Lucky diners at Simpsons will be looking forward to having one of Wales best chefs cook for diners on Sunday 30 April.
Gareth Ward might not yet have the profile enjoyed by other Michelin starred chefs but based on Ynyshir Hall’s listing in the Sunday Times Top 100 and Gareth’s experience working at Hambleton Hall and Restaurant Sat Bains, he is definitely one to watch.
Gareth’s modern style and use of innovative techniques and unusual ingredients will ensure guests’ taste buds are well and truly tantalised. Diners can expect dishes such as Gareth’s ‘Not French Onion Soup’ – an umami packed ‘flavour bomb’ and his sourdough bread served with miso-cultured butter and Welsh Wagyu beef dripping that he’s the only chef allowed to buy from Humphreys in Montgomery. The dinner will be priced at £65 per person.
Following Gareth will be by Mark Poynton, former Great British Menu contestant and the chef behind Alimentum, the much acclaimed Michelin starred restaurant in Cambridge. Mark also has experience working in a two Michelin starred restaurant having worked under Daniel Clifford at Midsummer House prior to taking over Alimentum. He will be joining forces with the Simpsons team on Monday 22 May to produce a six course dinner, featuring three of his signature dishes and three dishes prepared by Simpsons chef director, Luke Tipping. Priced at £70 per person, it’s sure to be a memorable experience.
